Features
KeymanWeb is feature-packed and ready to deploy "out of the box":
On-screen "visual keyboard"
A clear visual display of the keyboard layout helps users when they are not familiar with the keyboard layout, or as a reminder when they are travelling and do not have their own keyboard in front of them. They can point and click the visual keyboard if they wish, or print it.
Type directly – point and click not required
Your users can type with their keyboard. They do not have to point and click with their mouse as many other products force them to do.
JavaScript API
A powerful and easy to use API gives you the tools to control every aspect of KeymanWeb's user interface. You can disable KeymanWeb for selected controls, or select a default keyboard, or even retrieve the selected keyboard name to save in a user's profile or cookie.
Unique Contexual Input Technology
Our Contextual Input Technology makes input simple for end users.
Input validation, reordering, normalisation
Validation of input – preventing accidental invalid text such as multiple diacritics is essential.
Reordering makes intuitive input possible for Asian languages such as Hindi or Bangla.
Normalisation as the user types makes the text consistent and makes searching and processing the text straightforward.
Phonetic and Typewriter layouts
Contextual Input makes phonetic style input feasible and practical.
KeymanWeb of course supports traditional typewriter style input methods as well.
Unicode Support
KeymanWeb is designed to work with Unicode. Unicode is the industry standard character set encoding standard.
